Electrical record
- Rated voltage and 50/60 Hz frequency
- Rated current by main and feeder
- Available fault current at installation
- Protection and selective coordination objective
Filter by voltage, current, installation and certification evidence before opening a full configuration review.
| Filter | Record | Why it changes selection |
|---|---|---|
| Voltage | Nominal voltage, frequency and grounding | Defines insulation, device and assembly family boundaries. |
| Current | Continuous load, fault current and feeder duty | Separates ampere rating, interrupting capacity and SCCR. |
| Installation | Indoor/outdoor, temperature, altitude, access | Changes enclosure, ventilation, derating and service form. |
| Certification | Market, code basis and exact documents | Prevents a series-level claim from replacing product evidence. |
The screen can begin with a 480 V AC, 50/60 Hz reference and a 100 A feeder, but actual values must come from the project one-line and load schedule. Available fault current is recorded at the equipment location. A 25 kA device interrupting capacity and a 65 kA SCCR are not interchangeable descriptions; each is checked against its applicable assembly and protection context.
The shortlist does not complete an arc-flash study, approve protection settings or certify an assembled switchboard. Draw-out and fixed-mounted arrangements differ in maintainability, space and cost. Adjustable breakers add coordination flexibility but require disciplined setting control. Fuses may improve current limitation but require replacement inventory and procedures. Those trade-offs are returned as open decisions rather than hidden behind one recommended part number.
For reproducible verification, record the one-line revision, study date, ambient assumptions, proposed series, breaker frame, trip-unit settings and enclosure. Review current manufacturer curves, check coordination through the required current range, verify accessory and control-voltage compatibility, and have the responsible protection engineer approve the result. This process creates a repeatable evidence trail without implying that a website screen is final engineering approval.
