Siemens Switchgear services

Three concise review services connect an electrical schedule to a defensible equipment request.

01

Rating and topology review

We normalize the one-line diagram, nominal system voltage, frequency, continuous current, available fault current and feeder duties. The returned review separates rated current from interrupting capacity and short-circuit current rating, because those values answer different questions. Main-tie-main arrangements, transfer requirements and selective coordination objectives are recorded before a lineup is narrowed. A sample 480 V AC, 50/60 Hz system may use a 65 kA SCCR target, but neither number is treated as a project default.

02

Configuration and document check

Breaker frames, trip units, metering, communications, control power, compartmentation and enclosure type are mapped to exact series references. UL or IEC evidence is checked at the product-family level and for the intended market; the appearance of a mark on one component does not establish compliance for an assembled system. Drawings, datasheets and accessory tables are listed beside unresolved questions, giving panel builders and procurement managers one traceable review package.

03

Replacement and retrofit screening

An existing label photograph, lineup drawing, bus rating, breaker catalog number and control schematic establish the starting point. Mechanical fit alone does not prove equivalence. Primary disconnect geometry, interlocks, trip functions, control voltage, door clearances and arc-flash study assumptions may change. Obsolescence, field modification restrictions and outage windows are surfaced before commercial terms are discussed.

04

Verification boundary

Published ratings depend on manufacturer test conditions, assembly construction and approved combinations. Ambient temperature, altitude, ventilation and enclosure design can require derating. Selective coordination must be evaluated with current time-current curves, while arc-flash incident energy depends on the complete system study. Final code compliance, protection settings, installation and energization remain under the authority of qualified project professionals.
